Introduction to special Functions and q-Analogs Monodromy representation

Prof Mr Michel Jambu

(Université de Nice, Sophia-Antipolis)

Abstract:

The special functions have remarkable properties and they have applications in many areas.
We will start with some special functions: Gamma function, Beta function, power functions.
All these functions are some particular hypergeometric functions.
The hypergeometric functions will be the main part of these lectures.
We will also introduce the q-analogs of these functions and the quantum calculus
and we will study in detail some multivalued functions as an introduction to monodromy.
