The Department of Chemistry hosted an important seminar on May 7, 2025, conducted by MSc. Brusk Frya, focusing on essential laboratory safety practices and protocols. This educational session covered critical topics including proper chemical handling, emergency response procedures, personal protective equipment usage, and risk assessment techniques, aiming to create a safer research environment for students and faculty. The seminar aligns with multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by preventing laboratory-related accidents and illnesses, SDG 4 (Quality Education) through practical safety training, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by promoting safe working conditions, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by supporting secure scientific research, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through proper chemical waste management. This event emphasized the vital connection between laboratory safety, scientific excellence, and sustainable development, equipping participants with crucial knowledge for accident-free research.
